Bunge-Viterra Merge

Bunge and Viterra are merging to create a $34 billion company. Viterra shareholders will get 65.5 million shares of Bunge stock. Bunge was valued at roughly $6.2. billion dollars. But, Bunge will also assume the $9.2 billion of debt that Viterra had had. Also, at the point of the merger, Bunge was the largest oilseed processor in the world.

Bunge management still believes they will buy back $2 billion worth of stock from Viterra from adjusted profits. Viterra shareholders will claim roughly 1/3 of the company after the purchase. This acquisition would bring $67.2 billion in revenue. This wasn't the first attempted acquisition of Bunge to buy Viterra in 2017.

What will come from this?

Combining Bunge and Viterra’s complementary global value chains will give opportunities for farmers greater market access and differentiated, value-added solutions in all key origins. Food, feed & fuel customers will benefit from a broader product portfolio and expanded global supply options.
